Formed in spring 2003 by JD, (Bionic Larry, 43 Cents, Money Shot, Hot Carl) and Doug, (good friend from high school) jamming together a few times a week. Tina wrote a couple of songs with Bionic Larry and wanted to try her hand with JD and Doug.
The combination worked and the three of them started forming their sound.
By fall, a bass player filled in the gap and rehearsals began.
Within only five months of formation the band started gigging. Their first show was January 2004, in Marin County. They recorded their first self titled CD at Studio D in the summer of 2004. By the fall of 04' Felipe (Flipside, formally of “Love, Health, and Money,” and high school buddy to JD) joined the band as the permanent bass player.
His addition to the band is a full circle experience for JD, as Felipe is the first person that JD started playing music with ten years prior. The band’s influences come mainly from 80's rock and 90's grunge.
Their all original music has some heavy, soulful melodies reminiscent of early Alice in Chains, mixed with Pat Benetar as well as some lighter, fun tunes to get the toes tapping.
Tina’s lyrics come from life experiences that can connect with most anyone who listens with their heart and an open mind. As a band, they form a sound of pure rock fronted by an impassioned female voice. |

Their music definitely has evolved since the Studio D recording to become a sound reflection of each of their contributing talents.“Militant Miss” currently performs in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as the Lake Tahoe area, where they are developing a loyal following of “militants.” If you are interested in music that is original, fun, and loud, this is the band for you.
